In 2009, many of us have enjoyed cheap flights with Ghana International at very reasonable rates. The airline, although a 2 starrer pays good value for money. I mean, paying a fare as low as 179 GBP exclusive of taxes for going to another continent is not too bad at all. But while paying some thing this little, one should also keep the expectations of services the same size. The major factor that gives peace of mind to many is the fact the it’s a Direct Flight. Specially, where young ones or senior citizens are concerned, flying direct gives you a real piece of mind.

However, the harmony was shook when the rumors began to spread that the Government will no longer be supporting the carrier and therefore, it will be facing either a severe downfall or will be going bankrupt. Surprisingly, in December 2009, besides the rumor the carrier continued its flights successfully and it was the customers who proved to be the biggest support for the airline. The business went well and there were hardly any delays or cancellations. Unlike other carriers of 2 star ranking, Ghana International Airline proved to be more responsible and there weren’t any incidents where passengers were asked to move to next dates as result of planes getting overbooked. In short, we can conclude that the success rate in December kind of proved a mile stone in achieving a stable position in market for this airline.

The cream class, although, kept only limited to KLM, Air France and British Airways. But comfort comes with a price. These airlines apparently offers some cheap fares, but eventually the transit restrictions made people suffer. To the contrary this helped Ghana International as many passengers who were going in urgent basis and had no time to apply for transit visas had to fly Direct to Accra with Ghana International. British Airways, although is also direct flight and keeps on making its customers happy round the world by offering some cheap flights to Accra every now and than. But the demand for it is so big that availability becomes a major issue. Unless you reserve about three months in advance there are hardly any chances of getting a good fare.

In 2010, one thing that we must suggest to all the travelers is not to forget about the after shocks of recession. We have seen British Airways in crises and strikes last year, so you should be ready to expect any thing or every thing as far as delays and re-scheduling are concerned. At the same time, it does not mean that we should not be flying. We must keep our plans as planned, but in a smarter way. The insurances on flights are available every where. You can Insure you flights, your travels and almost anything in your life. So, pay another 20-50 pounds on your flights to buy yourself a peace of mind. Secure all your trips through insurance in 2010 flights and have a hassle free journey!!!
